The 36th edition of the Fajr International Film Festival has revealed the Iranian lineup in its short films competition.
The films were selected from the submissions to the Cinema Salvation and Eastern Vista (Panorama of Films from Asian and Islamic Countries) sections of the festival.
The Iranian short titles include 'Mr. Deer' by Mojtaba Mousavi, 'Discharged' by Azadeh Mousavi, 'Gray Umbrella' by Mohammad Poustin-Douz, 'Beautiful Woman' by Sajjad Mousavi, 'A Man with Blue Suit' by Jamshid Bahmani, and 'Pedovore' by Mohammad Kart.
The festival earlier announced the lineup of Iranian short films in the Fajr Film Market.
In addition to the above, the film market will screen 'Cypress Under Water' by Mohammad-Ali Bashe-Ahangar, 'Gaze' by Farnoush Samadi, 'Athens' by Hossein Shaeri, 'Zona' by Toufan Nahan-Qodrati, 'The Labyrinth by Shiva Nouri, 'Friend, Brother, Neighbor' by Mohammad-Ebrahim Azizi, 'The Dream of a Garden' by Rahi Qasemi, 'Delete All' by Mohammad-Ali Rakhshani, 'Hello' by Mohammad-Reza Haji-Gholami, 'Crow’s Nest' and 'Moon Said: Blop Blop Help' by Reyhaneh Kavosh, 'Alphabet' by Kianoush Abedi, and 'Empty View' by Ali Zare-Qanatnowi.
Established in 1982, the Fajr International Film Festival celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.
Since its establishment, the Fajr International Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.
Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.
Directed by Reza Mirkarimi, the 36th edition of the festival is slated for April 19-27, 2018, in the Iranian capital city of Tehran.
